NatusAI Gemini: backups you can prove you can restore

A backup matters only when it can be restored. Gemini is planned to keep recovery points, run restore drills and record the evidence, so risk and audit teams can see that recovery works, not just that a backup job ran.

  • Recovery evidence for supervisors and auditors, such as DORA resilience testing.
  • Releases, configuration and data restored together to a consistent point.
  • An independent route back if the platform or its AI provider is unavailable.

What it does for the business

A completed backup and a proven recovery are different results

Applications depend on more than data. Recovery has to bring back the release, the configuration and the retained information together, with the people and procedures to do it.

  1. Preserve

Record recovery points under a retention policy you choose.

  2. Restore

Bring the application and its data back to an authoritative state with a defined procedure.

  3. Verify

Capture the result of every restore drill, so the team knows the recovery path works.

What you can use today, and what is on the roadmap

We separate what is proven from what is coming, and label both. NatusAI Gemini is on our roadmap.

What you can use today

  • Recovery and exit planning in every engagement, documented from day one.
  • Backup and restore procedures agreed for each delivered application.
  • Information for your DORA ICT third-party register.

What’s on the roadmap

Roadmap
  • Gemini as a product: recovery points, restores and verification evidence.
  • In the planned NatusAI Cygnus first release: full and incremental backups, verified restore, point-in-time recovery, retention and legal holds, all release requirements.
  • An independent recovery route for the platform itself.

How it connects

Gemini protects data in NatusAI Cygnus and the applications run by NatusAI Draco, and gives NatusAI Orion a route back if it fails.

For your technical team
  • A recovery plan relates releases, configuration and retained data to a recovery point, and records whether restoration was tested, not only whether a backup job succeeded.
  • Proposed Cygnus 1.0 qualification targets (not measured results): zero acknowledged commits lost on one server; authoritative writes resume within 20 s after a restart with a 3 TiB dataset; 100% pass of scheduled verified-restore drills; crash recovery tested at every commit step.
  • No recovery-time or zero-data-loss service guarantee is stated today.
  • Retention, legal holds and exported derivatives need explicit policies. The planned storage-group cryptographic boundary is not a promise of automatic per-person cryptographic erasure.
  • Recovery and promotion are controlled independently of the system being recovered.

How NatusAI Gemini de-risks AI

Sovereignty, governance and security at NatusAI

Ownership

Recovery copies stay in locations you choose, under your retention rules.

Evidence

Every restore drill leaves a record your auditors can read.

Human review

Restoring and promoting a system are controlled independently of the system itself.

Recovery

A route back exists even when the normal interface or AI provider is down.

Where verified recovery matters

Banks and insurers must evidence resilience testing under DORA; energy and telecom operators manage supplier risk under NIS2. Today, recovery and exit planning are part of every engagement. See how our controls map to each regulation

Questions

Questions about NatusAI Gemini

Short answers for decision-makers. Your technical team will find the detail in the disclosure above.

Does a successful backup prove that recovery works?

No. Only a tested restore does. The planned release criteria separate backup completion from a verified restore drill.

Can you promise a recovery time today?

No. No recovery-time or zero-loss guarantee is stated. Recovery targets are agreed per engagement and tested before any claim is made.

Is NatusAI Gemini related to Google Gemini?

No. NatusAI Gemini is our planned backup and verified-recovery product. It has no connection to Google’s AI models.
